Software development on current Panther platforms:
In Panther Applications A/S we divide all development in eigther adhoc or fixed prices. To make it simple, we say that if we cannot be sure about something, we can always do it on adhoc. Adhoc projects can then be limited to the amount of hours invested. If we are completely sure about something, and have a full describing specification we can do it on fixed prices.
Adhoc projects:
Adhoc projects are typically projects where a customer cannot provide a full specification of the project. In cases like this, the loose understanding between the customer and the development team will be the specification. Other examples can be on-going projects, where small amounts of work are added to keep fx online portals running.

Adhoc projects are done on time and material basis. Each project will be given an estimate, and if hourly usage exceeds the estimate, the customer will have to approve further hours to the project.
Fixed projects:
Fixed projects are where the customer can deliver a fully specified specification of requirements. Typical projects on fixed prices are implementation of software, configurations or software development where the customer have paid Panther Applications to do pre-trial or prototyping maybe on adhoc.

Fixed price projects tends to be initially more expensive than adhoc projects, since investigating and work on specification can take huge amounts of time, but do also cover error-fixing in code supported by maintenance agreement.
